Anonymous: What are some essential items that a true otaku should always possess? Pictures would be appreciated :)
Well I wouldn’t consider myself “true” otaku. But I’ll try my best.
Being that otaku is basically geek/nerd for Japanese things, you would have to possess something related to your fandom. If it’s anime I’d say DVD or even VHS copies of of anime series would count. Figures. Cosplay materials. Even replica items and weapons. If manga a few books or even some magazines. If it’s video games I’d say having imports would be really otaku. And since you wanted pictures here are a few of the things I own:
Again, just a few…But I don’t really things there’s anything essential you should possess. Being otaku is really a state of mind. You could just really like anime or something and consider yourself otaku. Pretty much what I did.
